It has been over a year since my dad and I started the journey of transcribing his old log book into digital form and now, after 62 years it is out in paperback and on kindle for the enjoyment of all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the last 3 years of covid lockdowns and generally the fact that today is my dads 79th birthday – any excuse to spend time with him is good time spent. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

62 years ago Philip Wood spent his 17th birthday in the Mediterranean, 11 days after he joined the ship as a bright-eyed Apprentice Midshipman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book gives lots of detail on the 3 1\/2 years of his apprenticeship sailing with nine different ships all around the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
