One of our favourite activities is sailing. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of the wind in your hair and the sun on your face as you glide across the open water. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or a novice, there are plenty of opportunities to explore the stunning coastlines of the UK and beyond. From the scenic shores of Surrey to the picturesque harbours of Berkshire, sailing allows us to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse ourselves in the serenity of the sea.
Thrills on Snow and Ice
When the winter months arrive, we swap sails for skis and head to the slopes – well we would if we were in Norway. Skiing is is apparently a fantastic way to stay active but I was invited by our Norwegian relatives so they could watch me slowly lose the ability to move in any meaningful way.
For those who prefer a frostier adventure, we also enjoy ice skating. Gliding effortlessly across the ice, we find joy in the gracefulness, unless it is our eldest, who is an ice hockey player and grace is not a word we would normally use. Perfecting her jumps and spins at an indoor arena, ice skating brings out the inner child while watching our youngest.

When it comes to unwinding amidst nature’s beauty, we love exploring the great outdoors through alternative accommodation options like glamping. Imagine sleeping under the stars in a luxurious tent surrounded by the tranquillity of the Loire Valley. Glamping allows us to disconnect from the noise of modern life and reconnect with nature in a comfortable and stylish way.
From Ascot to Argelès, we have been on countless adventures, each one adding to our collection of treasured memories.
